EXCERPT
“Get up, sleepy head.”
I opened my eyes to find Ryan sitting next to me, pulling off my blanket. “Umm, everything okay?” I asked, trying to wake up my senses.
“Everything’s fine,” she said with a smirk.
I sat up and noticed a few candles spread around the room. “Uh, yeah . . . what are you doing here?”
Ryan twirled a strand of her hair, and in her smoky voice said, “I came to . . . give you a gift.”
“Tonight? Couldn’t it wait for tom—”
Ryan placed a finger on my lips and said, “Shhhh.”
She went to the edge of the bed, facing me, and let her dress fall to the floor, leaving her in a spectacular set of white lacey underwear. “It—it . . . it’s cold, wh-uh-why are you wearing a dress in this weather? You’re gonna get sick . . . umm . . . or something,” I said, swallowing hard.
“Was.” She smiled. “I’m no longer wearing it.”
I concentrated on the shiny rhinestone in between her breasts in fear of what I’d find if I looked at the small strand of cloth hanging on her delicate hips. If it was as sheer as her bra, I would be done for. The curves on her body made my mind spin faster than I could attempt to ignore them. Ryan slowly crawled her way up from the foot of the bed toward me, intertwining her legs with mine.
As I mustered up the strength of a fly to attempt pushing her off, she swung one leg over and straddled me—effectively ensuring I couldn’t move. She held my hands and pushed them against the headboard with slight force. All the while, the drum of my heart competed with the lack of oxygen and the blood I could swear was draining out of my body.
Ryan leaned her head back and I found my eyes lingering on the candlelight bouncing off her skin. The glow travelled from the top of her neck down to her belly to her—holy fuck! I went to grab her shoulders to try and put a break to this before it went too far, but she only laughed and leaned in closer. I forgot all desire to stop her as the intoxicating scent of her delicious coconut shampoo disabled me. Holding my gaze, she adjusted her position. Automatically my hands skimmed the edges of her thighs and went up her back. My fingertips rubbed along either side of her hard spine.
That wasn’t the only thing that was hard. Her lips parted slightly before trailing my neck, planting slow kisses along my jawline and then finally the side of my mouth. She playfully bit my lower lip . . . then the top . . . then gently pressed her full mouth on mine.
The kiss started out small. But then it grew bigger and more intense. The range of feelings had me ready to explode, but I was doing my best to control myself so I stopped. “I thought you’d never . . .?”
“I haven’t. That’s why it’s a gift,” she said and pulled her head away from my shoulder.
“Ry, are you sure?”
She nodded before gasping in reaction to my fingers tracing the edge of her underwear toward the front. In response to my exploration, she arched away, giving me a fantastic view of her beautiful long neck. I raised my head and licked the trail of bare skin before I nibbled her chin with my teeth. I pulled her hair gently as she moaned my name, and said, “Now.”
