[Coffee Shop Talks] What's Your Reading Style?

99% of my reading is done at night after the kids have gone to bed. I used to read every chance I could get, but my days are much busier than they have been in previous years. I've also become a much slower reader and it takes me nearly 2 weeks to get through one novel instead of just a few days. On my 45 minute drive to work, I listen to audiobooks and occasionally have time to listen while I'm working as well.

I'm currently spending my nights reading Tower of Thorns by Juliet Blackwell and listening to Ice Like Fire by Sara Raasch during the day. Both have been great!

So what about you? What's your reader style like?

Great topic! For me, it was to be silent for me to concentrate, which unfortunately eliminates reading in public. I read whenever I get the chance! I usually only manage one book per week - I'm a slow reader. :-( I love audio books! Especially this time of year, right before the holidays, audio books are perfect for me because I can knit and read at the same time.

I read when I can sneak in a few pages: while eating, in the can, during my commute, in between commercials, and of course before bedtime.

Ive gotten much slower at reading too! With baby 2 and a recent promotion, I'm lucky to read a book a month :(

This year my reading style really changed, because now I'm busier and stressed than ever and I can't wrap my mind around reading. But I'm trying to read in the morning, before I go to classes or I have a book ony phone and read while I wait for the bus. Or if I have time during the break between classes.

Also, due to this stressful schedule I'm kind of on an off in a reading slump and I don't think it will disappear. But I'm happy to at least read something from time to time.

I am definitely a read at night after work or before bed kind of person. It's hard to read during lunch and that's the only free time I have. I do listen to audiobooks in the car occasionally. On the weekends I will read during the day. I just wish there was a way to freeze time so I could get more reading in.
