[Coffee Shop Talks] Blogger Design Pet Peeves

(Ex: Busy sidebars, too bright colors, music in the background)

My biggest design pet peeve is sidebar images that aren't properly aligned. Fortunately, I don't see this as much as I used to when I first started blogging years ago. My other pet peeve is not being able to find a search box. It's not something that I use often when I visit other blogs, but there has been several times that I've wanted to search for a specific post, like an author interview, and I can't find a search box. In my opinion, it's a must-have when you're designing your blog layout.

What about you? Do you have any design pet peeves?

Mine would be too many adds and images/buttons. I tolerate it though, I'm not too savvy when it comes to designing so when I see a messy site, I just think they're not savvy like me too lol

I agree with the search bar. It does need to be pretty close to the top so you're not having to search and search for it and then search for the post you're looking for.

That's funny- I took out my search bar after finding basic searches weren't actually working (I searched for one of my reviews exactly how it was titled, and it came up nada, searched for the author, also nada even though I had several reviews by her). I hate the blinking/sound effect countdowns for books I've seen on some sidebars- they scare me. I jump in my seat when I hear them.
