[Coffee Shop Talks] Bare Your NetGalley!

Prepare to be surprised, ladies. I haven't used NetGalley in almost a year! I'm an Edelweiss gal. I'm pre-approved by all of my favorite publishers there and I have never been declined.

I currently have 11 unread ARCs on Edelweiss. 8 of them are past their release date. I did start them, but either I didn't like the story or wasn't in the mood for what I was reading at the time, so I didn't finish them. Some of the books on this list are Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley, Positive by David Wellington, and Owl and the Japanese Circus by Kristi Charish.

I've been having issues with Netgalley lately. You've convinced me to give Edelweiss a try! :)

I have requested books through Edelweiss multiple times and been denied each and every time, once for one that I was doing through a blog tour and was sent a code for. What I find most hysterical is that some of those same books I requested on Netgalley and was approved. Edelweiss as been nothing but a massive pain in my posterior. I'll still with Netgalley.

Right now I have 13 books on my shelf, 1 is 5 months old and 1 is 2 months old, the rest are current.

I get turned down more over at Edelweiss than I do Netgalley and in some cases it's the same book. Netgalley is easier to search but there are some publishers that are only on Edelweiss so I keep my account over there in hopes I'll get approved for those titles.

I've been cutting back on using either site because I've been focuses on my TBR pile of ebooks, print and audio books I own this year. And I've been using my library more. I'm thinking about deleting both of my accounts by the end of the year.
