[Coffee Shop Talks] Other Topics I'd Like to Blog About

Coffee Shop Talks is our weekly feature with Danielle (Coffee & Characters), Traci (Mad Hatter Reads), and a special guest where we all sit down and discuss different book-related topics.

If I didn't have such a busy schedule and had time to start a new blog, I would want to talk about my experiences with my teenage son who has autism. I go through a lot of things that either don't seem common when trying to reach out to other parents of autistic children or things that aren't talked about much in the autism community. Sometimes I feel like if I shared my own experiences then someone else may come along and feel like they have someone they can relate to or reach out to. Maybe someday I'll have the opportunity to make that happen.

What other topics would you want to discuss?

I don't know how you do it all, Cat! I'm always amazed at what other people's lives have going on behind the curtain.
How you find the time for everything amazes me!

I wasn't even aware you had a child, you look younger than me. My cousin has a child that is autistic and is non-verbal. I know she's found a lot of support from other mothers in a few facebook groups. So if you don't do a blog one day about that, maybe you could look into some of those (if you're not in some already).

Sorry to hear about that Cat but that would be a great topic. I'm sure a lot of moms can relate and draw strength form your experience.

I don't personally know any autistic children or families but I imagine that hearing someone else's perspective could be helpful were I in that situation. You do so much here so I'm sure there's little time left for another blog, but maybe one day. I actually have a nail polish blog as well but I post way less there than on the book blog. There's just not enough time to do all I want to.
