[Coffee Shop Talks] Book Covers I Wish I Could Redesign!

The whole Dark Swan series could use a makeover, but I especially disliked the cover for Iron Crowned. The background, the model with the large hunting knife, the colors used...there is absolutely nothing appealing about this design.

The Bone Season received a lot of attention months before the debut's release. Shannon's talents and the story were so hyped up that I had no choice but to read it. But if I had never heard of Shannon and passed by this book in the bookstore, I wouldn't look twice. The cover is so bland and ordinary and completely unimpressive.

Ever since I read this story, I was bugged by Mara's white appearance on this cover when she is a woman with a brown complexion. I'm guessing you could say that Mara's cover was designed in a pop art style, but I would love to change this cover and show Mara as she really is.

I'm sorry Carolyn and I hope you never see this, but I have to include Head Rush in the list of covers I would love to redesign. I don't know if it's the model, the way she is positioned or just the cover overall but I don't like it. I have to say though that this is one of the best series ever and I would have read this story no matter what the cover looked like.

See which covers Danielle & Traci would love to redesign -

I thought the same thing about The Bone Season cover. It reminds me of Deborah Harkness' All Souls Trilogy...there's just not much to the covers.

I wish they would redo the paperback cover for Iced by Karen Marie Moning. It's just awful and misrepresents the genre the series is in.
