[Coffee Shop Talks] Which Memes Do You Participate In?

Which ones do you actively participate in
and what makes them so much fun?

When I first started blogging, I participated in memes on a regular basis. It's a great way to meet new bloggers with similar taste in books and to find new books to add to the constantly growing TBR list. But as the blog grew and I became weighed down with a never ending list of review books and began posting spotlights, interviews and giveaways, I participated in memes less frequently. So the list below is not memes that I can say I still actively join in on, but they are the ones that are my favorites.

Hosted by Breaking the Spine, Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly
meme that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Hosted by Should Be Reading, Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme
where readers share two non-spoiler sentences from their current read.

Hosted by Parajunkee & Alison Can Read, Feature & Follow is a weekly meme
that helps bloggers make new friends & gain more followers.

I agree that memes are a good way to meet new bloggers and get your blog out there. When I first started blogging I really only did In My Mailbox. For me I've found that it's easier to just do my own memes/features instead of participating in one. I don't get the exposure but it's less pressure for me. Right now I do three regular ones - weekly stash post, Manicure Monday (with bookish manicures) and a weekly cover love feature. I do Top Ten Tuesday occasionally when the topic interests me. I like seeing memes on blogs though because it gives me a little more insight into the blogger.

Memes are great for new bloggers, like you said, they help you meet fellow book addicts and are easy posts to do. But, now I try to stay away from them though, I prefer my content to be more unique.

I've been participating in Feature & Follow since I started blogging, but I've been considering giving it up soon. It is a great way to meet new bloggers and blogs, but with our Coffee Shop Talks, I'm afraid of doubling up on questions/answers and want to try something new...not sure what yet though :)

I participate in Teaser Tuesdays,WWW Wednesday and Friday 56. I have a few of my own that I've started and am thinking I'm just saying the same thing twice. Not sure which I'll keep doing and which I'll drop.I'm almost 2 years into blogging and still figuring out what I want! LOL
