There are so many villains that immediately come to my mind. Otto from Carolyn Crane's Disillusionists series is my most hated. A certain shapeshifter from Richelle Mead's Dark Swan series disgusts me the most. Valentine from The Mortal Instruments is the most twisted.
However, the villain that I love to hate is V'Lane from the crazy talented Karen Marie Moning's Fever series. V'Lane is a villain I love to hate, because, let's face it - is he really a villain? At times I think he is. Other times, he is definitely not a prototypical bad guy. He is firmly cemented in the gray area of villains and I like him stuck there just fine. V'Lane is a hot, sexy, powerful Fae that does a lot of things for the heroine of this series. He also commits one of the worst crimes to the heroine, as far as I am concerned. He is cocky and charming, egotistical and intelligent, with a huge helping of self-importance and a heaping dose of self-preservation. What makes V'Lane so diabolical is the lack of trust you have in him. You never know the reasons behind V'Lane's actions, but you can be sure he will always benefit from his decisions.
