Interview and Giveaway with Christine Zolendz

First of all, thank you Jamie and www.addicted2heroines.com for taking the time to read my books and write your opinions about them. It’s because of awesome bloggers and book lovers like you that us Indie authors get known! So thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Fall From Grace (Mad World Book 1)
I'm finally home after struggling through my brother's illness and death. But, home is definitely a bit different. My best friend (the only person alive now that knows my secret) has a new boyfriend; and he has a friend. Shane Maxton: bad boy, tattooed rock god, eye candy extraordinaire. He is also New York City's most arrogant, self-serving, son of a, well, a definite one-night stand kind of a guy. But, it doesn't matter to me because I've spent my existence looking for the love of my life, my angel. And, there is nothing that Shane Maxton can do to change that.  A paranormal romance.

Saving Grace (Mad World Book 2)  After spending over 2,000 years being a lost soul looking for the angel I was forbidden to fall in love with, I finally found him. Lucky for me he has taken up residence inside the hot body of NYC’s local bad boy, tattooed rock  star, Shane Maxton. Turns out, not only is he absolutely perfect, so is the whole Grace Taylor life that I’m stuck in. The only problem is Gabriel. An archangel who wants me all to himself so he kind of kidnaps me. Now I have to find my way back and hope everything works out… Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance/Paranormal Romance (NOT appropriate for younger readers) Story contains foul language, sex, drinking and rock and roll! Warning: If you did not read Fall From Grace (Book 1) this book might be a little bit confusing!

Jamie:  Tell us/describe for us a little about your Mad World series.

Christine:  The Mad World series revolves around two main characters: Grace Taylor and
Shane Maxton. It begins with Grace grieving from the death of her brother Jake. She returns home to her best friend/roommate, Lea, who drags her out to a NYC bar where she meets Shane the gorgeously tattooed, rock god guitarist/singer of the local NY band Mad World, who, despite his man-whoring reputation, she can't help but feel intensely drawn too.
As the story unfolds you find out that Grace has a huge secret and so does Shane, and that’s all I’m telling!

Jamie:  You have a very creative basis for this series. Where did you get the idea for this book?

Christine:  I do a lot of graphic art and I was looking through some stock photos and I
stumbled upon a model and the story just started forming in my head. So I sat down at my computer and just typed. The story just came out. I never made an outline or even knew where it was going, I just sat down every night and typed.

Jamie:  Are Shane or Grace based on any real people?

Christine:  Omg! I wish I knew Shane! No, the characters aren’t based on anyone in
particular. Lea and Grace banter like I do with my friends, but that’s about it.

Jamie:  Besides Shane (swoon!), who is your favorite Mad World band member?

Christine:  Okay, besides Shane AND Grace, my favorite band member is Alex. I really
started crushing on him during the writing of Saving Grace.

Jamie:  You've said that you are working on this story from Shane's point of
view. When will we be able to read it?

Christine:  I’m half way through it right now and it’s kind of hard because he’s a guy, and I
really want him to think like a guy. So I’m asking my husband lots of questions and all my guy friends and they all think I’m pretty much insane. I don’t know when I’ll publish it because I want to take my time with his side because I want it to be real. I’m one of those people who like to live through a situation (or talk to someone in depth who has) to write it.

Jamie:  Will there be any more books in the Mad World universe? Maybe a book about
Alex or Ethan?

Christine:  Right now I don’t have plans to, but lots of people are asking me about it. The
great thing about being an Indie author is I can if I want to, and if I don’t, I don’t.
It’s all up to me.

Jamie:  Your series is currently available on Kindle. When will these books be available as Nook Books?

Christine:  It should be published for Nook in the next 24-48 hours!

Jamie:  What is the most difficult part about being an independent author?

Christine:  The most difficult part for me is finding time to actually sit and work. Right now
I’m on a childcare leave with my youngest daughter. Most of my time is spent trying to potty train, washing crayon scribbles off the walls and fishing coins out of the toilet.

Jamie:  Are you working on any other projects?

Christine:  There’s been another story that’s dancing around in my brain lately. It’s kind of
a what if scenario of something that happened to me when I was younger. Sort of a what if I choose this path, what would have happened? That thought just lead to a whole outline to another book. It’s a bit crazy but the characters kind of come to life in front of my eyes and they bother me until I write things down. There was one night when I was working on Fall From Grace and I just stopped writing. I thought the story was horrible and I just didn’t want to go on with it. That night I had a dream Shane busted through my bedroom door (yay!) and was yelling at me to keep writing. So I did.

Jamie:  Which books and authors do you read? Which ones have inspired you to write?

Christine:  I can write a huge list here. I love reading, and I mean LOVE it. Every single
book I have ever read has inspired me to use my imagination in some way. My
favorites? Collen Hoover and her Slammed series, Effortless and Reckless by S.C.
Stephens, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Tara Sivec, Megan Hart, Molly McAdams, CJ
Roberts, Samantha Young, J. Sterling, etc… Just about any indie author I could get
my hands on. Seriously, all I do is read.

Many thanks to Christine for taking the time to answer these questions!  I, for one, will be waiting (im)patiently for Shane's book!  Below you will find a Rafflecopter to win both books in this series.  There will be two winners of both books in Kindle format!  Good luck and thanks for stopping by!
