Feature & Follow [23]

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.  It is a fun way to meet new bloggers and to keep in touch with bloggers you already know!  Please feel free to follow us via Linky, e-mail or GFC.  If you leave a comment and link, we will visit your blog, too!  Check us out on Twitter:  Cat and Jamie.

Q:  What hyped up book do you think was not worth all the talk?

A:  I am a pessimistic person, so I don't believe too much hype about books.  There are a couple that come to mind that were on everyone's TBR list that kind of fell flat for me.  Here are a few much loved and much hyped books that just didn't resonate with me.

What are some books that were hyped up that fell flat for you??  Let us know - we'd love to hear from you!

I guess I'm kind of glad I didn't read Of Poseidon now. Thanks for the heads up! I agree with you on the last two as well.

You know One Grave at a Time wasn't my favorite in the NH series but I still liked it. Haven't read the other two books.

One of the books I chose for this week's questions was Once Burned. I LIKED the book but I just didn't get the same 5 star feel that mostly everyone got.

Hiya! I loved Of Poseidon, but wasn't a big fan of the night huntress series. I haven't read any Kim Harrison, but I hear good things!

As much as I love Frost the last two books in the Cat and Bones series has not been the best.

Yes, Of Poseidon is on my TBR list. In fact, it's sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. Haha. I admit to being one of the readers "hyped" up over it. I've heard some mixed reviews though...and I have had some bad experiences with mermaids. So I'm nervous. :/

I may be one of the last people left on the planet that hasn't read Frost OR Harrison yet. They're also on my TBR list. Haha.

Thanks for sharing though! Have a great weekend! I've been visiting the blog for a while now, but just now clicked the follow button (whoops, I thought I had!). :)

New follower here!

I'd love to know why these books didn't resonate with you... maybe share links to your reviews... or give a little bit more detail on the why?

I've quite a few friends who love these books, so it would be interesting to hear why you did not!!

I liked One Grave at a Time, but it wasn't as good as the other NH books. I haven't read any Hollows books yet so I can't talk about that one. Old follower.

Oh my gosh, I didn't like Of Poseidon at all! I didn't like the alternate POVs, and I thought it was so odd reading that Emma was supposed to be for the guy's (I can't remember his name) brother. As if she had no say. It just wasn't for me. Definitely a disappointment, because I thought I would love it.

Jessi (Geo) said...

I haven't read the other two, but YAY someone else who didn't like Of Poseidon!! I couldn't even bring myself to finish it, and all I see is review after review raving about how 'amazing' it is. Ugh!

Here's my answer :)

I definitely agree about One Grave at a Time. I haven't read the other two but have been thinking about starting Harrison's series so it's kinda discouraging to hear that this one disappointed you...
