Feature & Follow [7]

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.  It is a fun way to meet new bloggers and to keep in touch with bloggers you already know!  Please feel free to follow us via Linky, e-mail or GFC.  If you leave a comment and link, we will visit your blog, too!  Check us out on Twitter:  Cat and Jamie

Q:   What is the longest book you've ever read?

A:  The first non-UF/PNR book that I've read that comes to mind is Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky (704 pages depending on the edition).  I read this years ago, and am ashamed to say that I don't remember much outside of the basic plot.

The longest UF/PNR book I've read must be Karen Marie Moning's Shadowfever.  At 594 pages, it is on the long side.  However, those 594 pages flew by and I could have read an additional 594 pages about Mac, Barrons and the rest of the Fever crew.

The longest book I've ever read is Incubus Dreams (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #12) by Laurell Hamilton. It's 752 pages of kinky, sweaty, sexy fun. It's also one of my favorites in the series.

So what's the longest book you've ever read?  Was it worth the page count?  Leave us a comment - we'd love to know!

We are in the middle of two awesome hops!  Go ahead and enter our Stacia Kane/Stacey Jay Hop and our 18 and over Hop!

Oh lord, Crime and Punishment? That makes me think of high school AP English!

And, whoa, I didn't realize some of those Anita books got so damn long!

Hiya Jamie and Happy Friday!

Good choices, although I guess everyone has a different opinion of when LKH went a little BDSM on her readers.

I started Crime and Punishment in a Lit class... but I gave up quickly. Probably too quickly.

Come see my TGIF / Follow Friday for this week!

Hopping through. I'd like to read Dostoevsky some time, but it feels like such an endeavor. I think I'd go for Tolstoy first.

Hi,
I am already a follower but new to the FF Hop.
I have not yet read the Fever series by KMM but I have heard so much about it. I want to read the series but I like HEA endings and I am not sure that it ends that way from what I have seen. I am definitely putting Incubus Dreams in my TBR pile.
Thanks

I have heard of this book, but never had the inclination to read it. It might be a summer read - when I can kick back and leisurely read it. Thanks for the follow! I'm a new follower of your blog now :D

I've never read Crime and Punishment and I'm not really too upset about that. I forgot about Shadowfever, but I adored that book. I have the first Anita Blake on my TBR shelf...I just can't get motivated to start it. Oh well!

I got mad at the Fever series with Faefever and just can't seem to finish it though I really do love Baron. Old follower.

If you consider the fact that the version of The Lord of The Rings I read was the one that’s one book with the 3 parts inside (1202 pages in the brazilian version), that would be the longest book I’ve ever read. But if you consider series to favorite 600+ page reads, hands down, Harry Potter. Not so much for the story, but for the feeling it brings me every time I think about it.

I'm a new follower, btw!
