Q: Have you ever looked at a book's cover and thought, "This is going to be horrible?" But, was instead pleasantly surprised? Show us the cover and tell us about the book.
A: Two books immediately came to my mind when I read this question.
So I LOVE Kresley Cole and her Immortals After Dark series. But really? Could this cover be any cheesier? I especially love the unnatural, HUGE and blue-ish hands Lachlain is using to hold Emma. And isn't Emma the vampire? Shouldn't she be about to bite Lachlain's neck? However, this book was hot! I loved this story and can't wait to read more about the Valkyries! And that forest scene is one that will always stick in my mind!
He growled in frustration, but he did limp to the door. At the hallway adjoining the rooms, he turned and said, "You've bought yourself a few hours. The next time you drink, you're mine and we both know it."
Okay, I know I might get a lot of flak from this one. I love Jeaniene Frost as much as the next gal, but when I saw this cover, I thought we were in for a Mencheres mess! I never imagined Mencheres looking like the model on this cover. I think the model's eyes are kind of creepy, and this cover reminds me of an 80s vampire B movie. Mencheres has always been my favorite side character in The Night Huntress series, and when I read this book, I became smitten with him all over again! This book made me a very happy girl!
“Dead or not, you must be bored with women telling you how you look like the hottest, most exotic wet dream they’ve ever had. No wonder the thought of you, grapes, and some scented massage oils crossed my mind – and if you drop that towel again, I’m going to need a cold shower.”
So tell me, what are some books you've enjoyed after getting past a not-so-enjoyable cover?

Those are some pretty cheesy ones! They're still on my TBR list though :)

Yeah, both of the Night Huntress World covers are kind of silly!
<3 Goldilox
hahaha those are definitely cheesy! Great picks guys.
Both of those covers are pretty ridiculous. However, Jeanine Frost is a romance genius! I LOVE the Night Huntress series.

Great answers, Jamie!
I've always wondered why Lachlain looks like Count Dracula on this cover. You're right, she should be the one biting his neck.
I totally agree. These 2 were both bad!
New follower. When ever I see cheesy covers like these i don't even pick them I don't know how many good stories I missed or how many bullets I dogged. Great pick thanks for stopping by.
Hopping through. Definitely not a fan of the Cole cover, but I've heard that the book is great.
My Hop
I'm so with you on those! The Frost book is one of mine too. He's just so creepy!

Totally agree with the Hunger cover. I was thinking why did so many people recommend this series with this cheesy a** cover.
Omg lol what's wrong with me that I think the covers are OK :O oh well
Hi there, Hopping through :)

My Feature and Follow Friday
These covers are pretty bad. I haven't read Cole's series yet even though I own the first 5 books.
I have read the first two in Cat and Bones which is the series that the cover you showed was a spin off of. I think the Cat and Bones covers are much better than the spin off series.
Everyone keeps mentioning A Hunger Like No Other but I actually liked the cover but didn't like the book. Go figure! Although the cover is misleading because she is the vampire and he is the werewolf. The Jeaniene Frost cover is ugly. I haven't read that one yet but have been meaning too since I love the Night Huntress series. Following GFC and Linky.

:) Just saw worse covers on my Hop!!

Cimmaraon - I would have never picked up Hunger if my reading friends didn't insist, lol!
Shawna - YES! Check them both out, but if you haven't read Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series, read those first!

Both of those covers are pretty bad! The Frost one not as much as the first one, but still!

Hate the first cover. It looks horrible.
In the second one, the guy looks way too creepy. :/

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.
Those are some very cheesy covers!! They're the type of covers I'd never be caught dead with on my person outside of my house, haha. Yey for ereaders where covers don't matter anymore!
you're right it's very different from the story. I prefer the french one for the kresley cole series.

New Follower! Romance covers always have a tendency to just turn a reader off on first glance, lol. Thanks again for following me!

I agree, I saw this cover and wasn't really the biggest fan of it.

Following you:)
I've never read either of them, but I would't go for them based off the covers. I don't know what it is, but I don't like them.
Hi, new GFC follower! I love Jeaniene Frost, too, but that cover was terrible!

Uhhh, neither of these covers scream "read me" to me!

Hey there! Hopping by to return the follow favor. I don't really like those covers. I have heard good things about both authors, so it is unfortunate that the covers do not do their reputations justice. I definitely wouldn't pick either book up based on those covers. But I don't know if I would call them cheesy so much as tasteless. Cheesy to me means somewhat silly or goofy looking. These just look like nobody cared and they tried to find something close to the genre. New follower via GFC.
Kendra @ Reader's Edyn
I agree, those covers are a little weird. They don't really make me go, "Ooh, I want to read that!" Good choices!
Thanks for following my blog, I'm following back!
I don't think I'd chose those books if I was "cover" shopping. Thanks for stopping by my FF.
Following back :)
I agree with the second one feeling like a B movie.
