Feature & Follow [4]

Q:   What book would you love to see made into a movie or television show and do you have an actress/actor in mind to play the main characters.

The first part of this question is easy for me.  The series that I would give my right arm to see on television or in the movies would be Stacia Kane's Downside Ghosts series.  I can picture the cinematography - dark, urban, just a tad off from reality, with the addition of angry ghosts and street thugs.  And of course, I would love nothing more than to hear Downspeak on my TV.  Of course, this would have to be a cable show.  I'm not sure who I would tap to portray the main characters in this show, but I do have a visual of how I imagine Bump, the powerful drug lord in this series.

This is a random picture I took at a Pittsburgh Steelers game a few years ago (I apologize for the blurry picture), and this guy always shows up in his fur coat, and it immediately makes me think of Bump.

Throw a little pomade into Hugh Jackman's hair and throw a bowling shirt on him and he might even resemble Terrible a little.

It's hard for me to find a good example of what I think Chess would look like, because I like the model on the series' book covers.  If you took this picture of Rooney Mara and her bangs, and let her hair down, she might look enough like Chess.

Which series would you like to see make into a movie or television show?

You're so right. i love the downspeech in her series. It grew on me pretty fast after initially disliking it.

Happy Friday!

I reckon, if done well, they could get the atmosphere of Downside onto the big screen.

They could never get the perfect actor for Terrible, though... such a fine hunk of man can't possibly exist in real life, lol :)

@Laura - YES you must check it out ;-)

@Laura - that's my co-blogger who's reading Blameless. I haven't read it yet :(

@Lynsey - you're 100% correct - no one would be a perfect Terrible. I only picked Hugh Jackman because of his mutton chops, lol!
