Feature and Follow [6]

Feature & Follow is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.  It is a fun way to meet new bloggers and to keep in touch with bloggers you already know!  Please feel free to follow us via Linky, e-mail or GFC.  If you leave a comment and link, I will visit your blog, too!  Check us out on Twitter:  Cat and Jamie

Q:   What is the best book you've read in the last month?  What is the worst book you've read in the last month?

A:  My favorite book of the month is a very difficult decision.  There are so many choices for me to include.  My first favorite book I've read this month is:

I know I'm late to the Fifty Shades party, but I cannot put into words how much I loved this dark, sexy and twisted book.  This is a book (heck, a series) that I can't stop thinking about, although I've finished reading it. I know it's controversial, and it isn't a book for everyone, but for me, this book was excellent.

I also loved Blood on the Bayou.  Anabelle Lee is such an excellent character and author Stacey Jay is a very talented writer.  If you haven't read this series, please run to the nearest bookstore and pick it up!

And I certainly couldn't leave this out:

There is no series I like to cuddle up more with than Stacia Kane's Downside Ghosts series.  Sacrificial Magic has been a long time coming and it doesn't disappoint!  I could read about Chess and Terrible until the end of time!

I haven't read what I would consider a terrible book all month long, but if I had to chose, I'll chose this book that I gave a three-star rating to:

Although I love this author's other work, this book just didn't do it for me.  I didn't connect with the plot or the characters as much as I would have liked to.  And although this author can write a mighty steamy scene, the scenes in this particular book fell flat for me.

Those are my bests and worsts of the month!  What is your favorite read of the month?  Did you read something awful, too?  Leave us a comment and let us know!  We'd love to hear from you!

I am totally with you on BOTB, of course. Unfortunately I haven't had the pleasure of reading your other favorites as of yet.

Excellent response Jamie!

Great favorite picks. I see one of you is reading Phaeton Black? So curious to hear someone else's opinion of this!

Thank, guys! I just started Phaeton. I wanted to read it last week, but I was sucked into the black hole that is Fifty Shades...and I mean that in the best way ;-)

Of course those would be my picks as well....however I would flip flop SM & BotB
I can't get Fifty Shades series out of my head either.....

Good choices Jamie. I know what you feel about the Fifty series, you can't stop thinking about it. Plus they are long books which I read slowly to savour them as much as possible.
Just hopping by.

I'm reading the first Fifty book right now and while I love and respect the BDSM genre I just am not fully connecting with it. I do love Ana and like Grey but there is just something missing for me. I just am not buying into their passion for each other. I'm hoping that the second half of the book gets me more into the story and that I it is enough to keep going with the series.

Ugh I can't wait for my copy of City of Ghosts and SM to come in so that I can catch up on the series. I'm missing my dose of Terrible!

lol Have only heard about the first book you mention. Mixed reviews though, like you say its not a book for everyone. :) Thanks for stopping by! New Follower!
