Feature & Follow [1]

Q: What would you prefer: reading your favorite book over and over again until you got sick of it OR reading 100s of mediocre books? And why?

When I first read this question, I thought the answer was obvious. Why would I want to bore myself by spending month after month reading one mediocre book after another? But then I thought, wouldn't it be worse to grow sick of reading one of my favorites? I couldn't imagine reading the Night Huntress series so often that I became sick of Bones. Or reading Downside so many times that I was no longer interested in Terrible. *shudders*I don't even want to entertain the thought.

So I would rather deal with reading 100s of 3 star books. Even mediocre books have certain elements that are amusing, worlds that are interesting, and characters that you can like even if they don't make your top 10 list.

Besides, when you finally pick up your favorites again, you'll appreciate them that much more.

Happy First FF post! :)))
Yes, you and I are so close that of course our answers would be similar, lol. The thought of getting tired of Terrible or Bones just sounds dreadful...:( I cannot even imagine you getting tired of Ckayton Danvers...I mean I bet the costume cost a lot of money, I would hate for it to go to waste.....;)

I couldn't ever imagine getting tired of Bones and that accent =) That'd just break my heart. I like your logic behind reading 100s of mediocre books and then getting a better appreciation for your favorites.

I couldn't imagine getting tired of my fave, though I'd read them for more than a dozen times. Still, the prospect of getting sick of my fave book is, well, sick.

Hopping through. What is Downside? I'm familiar with Night Huntress but haven't heard of Downside.

Interesting answer.
Not sure I would ever grow sick of a favorite though. There is always something new to discover in a truly excellent book.

This question really made me think! I get angry with mediocre books so I had to pick reading my favorites.

Same here! The thought of ever getting tired of Kat and Bones makes me shudder a bit. I'd go with 100s over just my favorite too.

Great answer. While I would prefer reading my fav I do see the important of the mediocre books. I can't see myself growing tired of my fav reads. New follower.

Is it possible for anyone to get sick of Bones? I couldn't. That series is on my reread list.
