Featured Heroine: Jennifer Lawrence

I can guess what most of you are thinking when you see the name
Jennifer Lawrence.

Oh my god! It's Katniss!!

But I didn't choose her as my featured heroine for her role in The Hunger Games.

I recently watched X-Men First Class and I loved Lawrence in her role as Mystique.

She's not the bad ass that Rebecca Romijn was, but that was to be expected. This movie was more about the characters' origins and the events that occurred which ultimately formed them into the bad ass heroes/villains that they are today.

What's not to love about Mystique in First Class?

She's beautiful (in both of her forms). Her dearest friend is Charles Xavier (even though their relationship is complicated at times). She develops a crush on Erik (who could blame her?). And by the movie's conclusion, she has fully accepted herself as the mutant that she was born to be. (Mutant and proud!)

While doing a little research online, I've been informed that aside from The Hunger Games, Lawrence has another movie scheduled for 2012 -
House at the End of the Street (April 20th)

Here is the synopsis from The Internet Movie Database :

A mother and daughter move to a new town and find themselves living next door to a house where a young girl murdered her parents. When the daughter befriends the surviving son, she learns the story is far from over.

Director:  Mark Tonderai
David Loucka (screenplay), Eduardo Gordon (story)

What do you think? Sound interesting?
The details may be too vague to decide just yet.

And now, because I know it's what you really want to see, here are a few photos of the filming for The Hunger Games.
